Wow.

This is some of the most professional sounding DnB that I've heard on NG. Hands down.

My only criticism is that it seems like it never really goes anywhere, but I didn't mark you down for that because it might well have been a stylistic choice.

Yeah, like I said I was really going for a tranced out, vibey feel, so structurally I tried to keep things simple. But I do agree that it stagnates a bit after repeated listening.

[First Attempt At DnB]

Well...

It's a start, though there's not much song there. I won't lie, the drums were pretty bad, but despite what the previous user said, I think the main synth you used was perfect for Dn'B. Granted, all that was in this song was that synth pretty much, but With a more aggressive melody and some pitch bends it could sound pretty bad-ass.

Oh and a tip on the drums. Use a slicer and some breaks from old songs. (A good place to start is the "Amen Break" from the Winstons' track Amen Brother. No doubt you've heard of this one. Despite its incredible overuse it's not a bad place to start.) Really, it's damn hard to get the saturated, chaotic feel of DnB with individual samples because their so clean, and DnB isn't clean.

Almost Industrial

I like this a lot, really catchy beat and the drums have huge depth to 'em. Not much else to say, just lengthen it a bit and you have a solid contender for the top spot.

Cool

Nice bouncy melody, and the synth isn't bad at all, but it just seems to never get going. Maybe try bringing the kick up in the mix a bit and adding a little reverb? Anything to give it a fuller, more punchy sound, as right now the synth is dominating the mix entirely.

Whoa, I'm really impressed. I was listening to this thinking that I was hearing an NG veteran. The first minute sounds aight as is, but when the whole song comes in around the 1 minute mark the beat is awesome. My only real complaint is that I don't really like the kick sample you use in the very beginning.

You're off to a good start.

I'm very curious.

The actual song isn't bad. It captures a certain epic quality, and it's memorable enough, but I couldn't help but notice that I was counting in 4/4, or more accurately 12/8 the whole time to it. I can't for the life of me figure how you got 3/4 out of this, but maybe I'm just a fool.

Impressive.

I really don't know what to say, great atmospheric intro, catchy hook, cool melody, immense beats. Seriously immense beats. The song can't really be faulted to any great extent in one area.

On an entirely different note, however, I'd watch the way you write your song descriptions in the future. Maybe it's just me, but the way you talk about never giving it your full attention and such sounds quite arrogant. I'm sorry if you weren't meaning it that way, just giving you my take on the matter.

Awesome song tho. 5'd.

And yeah i entirely agree with you on that, i don't really mean to sound arrogant when i write stuff, but i'm sorta known for bieng really sarcastic all the time which sorta bypasses me when i'm writing something :(

not bad.

Not sure if you listen to much Noisia, but it really seems you were going for the feeling they did with their bootleg of Sweet Dreams, what with the DnB feel and pitch raised vox. (One hell of an awesome mix btw, it's on their myspace.) It sounds like you were trying to make this a lot more agressive than it came out too. The finished product sounds a little on the empty side, but a fatter bass can really help that out. Overall it's a cool idea though, and you managed to take a song that I absolutely despise and make me hate it a bit less, so props to you. (Really though, I liked it, that wasn't a jab.)

In conclusion, good job, you just need to fatten up your tone a bit.

PS: My life is busy as all get up, sorry it took me so damn long to review this. I've been planning to write a decent one for a while now.

hey! thanks so much for taking the time to review! i know i wanted the song much heavier. i just don't get the large chunks of time to sit and figure things out perfectly with a newborn baby.i was excited i was able to get what i did get done, done. i know it lacked a few things and i'm still in the process of trying to figure out FL so i can create what i hear in my head. i haven't heard of Noisa but will; have to check them out! with a baby, it may be a bit before i can sit down again and work on it but will let you know when i do. i'm glad i made the song a little less "kill-myself-in-the-face" for you, lol. thanks for the listen!!!!!

Killer vox, really brings out the qualities of the original, which sounded a little bland without any vocals.

don't know if bland is the word... i guess without vox there is always going to be something missing from a killer metal track no matter how good (of course, not counting a few exceptional instrumentals from certain bands) but yeah, it all fit together pretty well.
